Log Files

Webmetrics records monitoring sample in a log file, which is accessible from the Web Console. The log files are particularly helpful when you have received alerts for a service and want to diagnose what is happening, or want to evaluate the exact errors that happened over a period of time.

To access the log files for a particular service

  1. In the Dashboard or Services tab, click the service name (if you have errors, you can also click the service name in the Today's Recent Errors section of the Dashboard tab to go directly to step 6).
  2. Open the Logs sub-tab. The Log Snapshot shows the last three entries in the log file.
    1. Click to generate a fullpage breakdown for an entry.
    2. Click to generate a downloadable Excel file.
    3. Click to add a note about the entry.

  3. Use the Select Time Period pre-defined options, or specify a date range manually or use the calendar tool (data is stored for one year from today's date).
